Signature Events

Members who are active and participate on a committee tend to remain involved for a number of years. Valley Forward's many events offer numerous opportunities to contribute to a worthy cause and network with the Valley's most influential civic and corporate leaders. Among our signature programs are: Quarterly Board of Directors/General Membership Luncheons, our Annual Luncheon, Valley Forward's Livability Summit, EarthFest Educators Night and the Environmental Excellence Awards.

Livability Summit
Valley Forward's Livability Summit, on April 16, 2009, will facilitate education and outreach on Healthy Environment - Healthy Economy. The Association's ultimate goal is to help to improve the environment and sustainability of Valley communities and positively impact the health and well being of residents. (more information)

Member Mixer
Valley Forward's sixth Annual "Just for the Fun of It" mixer will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2009. (more information)

Environmental Excellence Awards
Valley Forward's Environmental Excellence Awards (EEA) program is Arizona's oldest and largest environmental competition. The 29th annual event in partnership with SRP, will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Westin Kierland Resort. (more information)

EarthFest Educators Night
Valley Forward has an ongoing work program to facilitate environmental education to both teachers and students in Arizona. Through our EarthFest Educators Night for teachers we will showcase environmental education resources to 300+ teachers (K-12) on October 29, 2009 at the Phoenix Zoo. (more information)

Annual Luncheon
Two of the highest regarded voices of the political scene, "liberal" Bob Beckel and "conservative" Cal Thomas delivered the keynote address at Valley Forward's 39th Annual Luncheon. The duo, authors the syndicated USA Today column Common Ground, which is also the name of their live political analyst program. This year the Association will celebrate its 40th year anniversary luncheon on Friday, December 11, 2009. (more information)

Valley Forward’s Livability Summit facilitates education and outreach on sustainability issues through exhibits, displays and such renowned speakers as: Al Gore, Ed Begley Jr., Ralph Nader, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, Christine Todd Whitman, Amory Lovins.

Valley Forward gives nearly $10,000 to K-12 teachers throughout Arizona as part of its annual EarthFest Educators Night.

More than 700 community leaders convene annually for Valley Forward’s Environmental Excellence Awards to recognize sustainability initiatives around the Valley.
