Environmental Education

Our Environmental Education Committee is committed to mentoring future stewards of the environment.

Through our EarthFest Educators Night for teachers in partnership with Freescale Semiconductor and a host of other sponsors, we showcase environmental education resources (field trip opportunities, curricula and related materials) to 300+ teachers (K-12) throughout Arizona.

Teachers are invited to preview environmental education exhibits and enjoy a free fun-filled  evening, complete with refreshments, displays and activities, networking and tours of this renowned environmentally sensitive venue.

In addition, Valley Forward's EarthFest Education grant made possible by STMicroelectronics this year awarded more than $7,000 to teachers for environmental education programs.

Our Online Environmental Education Resource Directory lists programs, activities and curriculum available through Valley Forward member companies and organizations. It is an excellent resource for teachers and others interested in providing environmental education.

BALANCING GROWTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

The livability and sustainability of our region has been at the core of Valley Forward since its inception.

Regional governments and organizations like Valley Forward are now looking at the Sun Corridor megapolitan between Phoenix and Tucson as a place requiring better planning and communication between jurisdictions.

How we manage our natural resources impacts our quality of life. Valley Forward convenes public and private sector interests to address critical environmental issues.
